Welcome to My Portfolio

This is the beta version of my portfolio. Initially, I created it as a personal repository to collect information from my various projects that is otherwise scattered. It's a tool for me to quickly recall and refer to my past works. However, as the development progressed, I realized its potential as a platform to publicly showcase my skills and knowledge. Hence, I decided to make it accessible to all.
Here, you’ll find a collection of various projects I’ve been involved in. The portfolio includes a mix of both major and minor projects. Some of the detailed and actual projects are excluded because they were developed for commercial purposes or are under confidentiality agreements
This portfolio is a work in progress. I am in the process of retrieving archives of my older projects to include here. Moving forward, my intention is to update this page in real-time as projects progress, rather than after their completion – though the feasibility of this approach remains to be tested:)

Projects

2023

CoreXY 3D Printer Project

CoreXY 3D Printer

Start Date: Oct 2022 Duration: 8 Months Status: In Progress

Skills: Linux, 3D Modeling, Mechanical engineering

I began this project to upgrade my old Ender 3 printer and bought an unfinished D-bot printer thinking it would be easy and cheap to complete (Spoiler: I was wrong). Progress is at a leisurely pace, with improvements made as my spare time allows. The printer now runs on Klipper with Mainsail UI, has a build volume of 350m^3, and a max speed of 200mm/s. It’s working but still needs some mechanical tweaks to be perfect. Read More...

Escape Room Electric Boxes Project

Escape Room Electric Boxes

Start Date: Apr 2023 | Duration: 2 weeks | Status: Completed

Skills: Python Scripting, Design, Restoration

I received a request to create three boxes styled to look old, where players enter a combination. When the right combination is entered, the Raspberry Pi Pico controller sends a command to the game master's PC via USB. I also modified an old phone to let the game master communicate with players through a PC, using a 3.5mm aux connection. Unfortunately, due to a tight deadline, I didn’t get a chance to take photos of the finished project. Read More...

30t Aluminum Chip Press Remake Project

Aluminum Chip Press Upgrade thesis

Start Date: Dec 2022 | Duration: 4 Months | Status: Completed

Skills: Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering, PLC Programming, ISO Standards

For my final year bachelor's thesis, I decided to examine some flows in the old project "aluminum chip press". In my papers I made market analysis, some mechanical design modifications, created technical drawings, calculated maximum forces on crytical parts and made an economic analysis. Read More...

Drone Radar Project

Drone Radar

Start Date: Feb 2023 | Duration: 48 hours |

Status: Concept prototype finsihed

Skills: SDR Technology, Radar System, C/C++ Programming

During the Garage48 Hackathon "Defence for Ukraine" in Estonia, our team of four conceptualized a drone radar system. It uses two antennas and ESP32s to measure RSSI strength, with a Raspberry Pi calculating differences to control a camera on a two-axis gimbal. The concept is established, but needs more development for a complete prototype. Read More...

2022

ESP32 Web Controlled Stepper Driver Project

ESP32 Web Controlled Stepper Driver

Start Date: Sep 2021 Duration: 7 Months Status: Working prototype finished

Skills: RTOS, esp32, Web applications, Optimization, C/C++ Programming, Electronics

I developed a real-time system to operate two stepper motors and transmit live video to a web app. Challenges included ensuring rapid, precise movement under weight, maintaining operator safety, and sustaining WiFi connectivity at a distance, especially with the device in a Faraday cage. I addressed most issues, but couldn't make the system consumer-ready. Read More (WORKS)...

2020

30T Aluminum Chip Briquetter Project

30T Aluminum Chip Press

Start Date: Jun 2020 Duration: 8 Months Status: Prototype Completed

Skills: PLC Programming, Industrial Equipement Design and Repair

This industrial press for compressing metal chips from milling and turning operations was a collaborative project with Vyliaudas Stragas. I joined after the initial mechanical design phase. My responsibilities included integrating mechanical movements, electrical wiring, sensor installation, designing the electric cabinet, programming cycles, and ensuring electrical safety. Lithophane Image Project

Lithophane Image

Start Date: Mar 2020 | Duration: 1 Month | Status: Completed

Skills: 3D Printing, Design, Woodworking

I crafted this "3D" image as a special gift. The image was converted to G-code using online tools and printed with PLA plastic. To ensure an even light source I used a tablet screen backlight. The image appears when light shines through the plastic; variations in thickness create different light intensities, revealing the image. It's powered by a 5Ah Li-po battery with a magnetic charge connection, which can last up to 56 hours. Read More...

Arduino Cell Charger Based on VortexIT Design Project

Arduino Cell Charger/Discharger

Start Date: Feb 2019 | Duration: 5 Months | Status: Prototype Completed

Skills: Battery management, Electronics, Circuit Design, C++ Programming

I needed a device for testing refurbished 18650 Li-ion batteries and modified Brett Watt's VortexIT project to be a standalone device, adding features like multiple charge/discharge cycles for accurate capacity testing and a cell revive mode for safely recovering deep discharged cells. Changes include removing the Ethernet module and barcode scanner, streamlining files, and revising the menu layout. However, the cell revive mode and temperature sensor are unfinished. Wooden Lantern Project

Wooden Lantern

Start Date: May 2023 | Duration: 1 Month | Status: Completed

Skills: Woodworking, Design, Craftsmanship

I designed this lantern as a unique gift. Using a capacitive touch sensor, the lantern is designed to light up when touched at the top. I crafted it using a combination of differently colored bamboo and pine. The initial version was wired, but I upgraded the design to include a battery, resulting in up to 48 hours of use and improved light distribution. Read More...

90's Boombox Project

90's Boombox Revival

Start Date: Jan 2018 | Duration: 2 Months | Status: Completed

Skills: Restoration, Electronics, Audio Engineering

Many of us have had the desire to blast music at full volume, but I aspired to do so with a touch of elegance. I purchased a broken Loewe 8694 radio, aiming to restore its classic charm. While its exterior remained untouched, the interior underwent a complete transformation. I installed laser-cut fittings for bigger speakers, added D-class amplifiers, a Bluetooth receiver, and a battery. Even old stereo level indications came back to live. Read More...

Android Gyroscope Maze Runner

Start Date: Mar 2017 | Duration: 2 weeks | Status: Completed

Skills: C# programming, Unity3D, Android Development, Game Design

Gyroscope Maze is a dynamic mobile game developed with the Unity3D engine. Created as my final project for a Unity course in 2017, the game challenges players to navigate a ball through an ever-evolving maze using the phone's internal gyroscope. The gameplay involves tilting the phone to control the ball's movements. As players progress, they encounter denser obstacles, and the red line indicating the end of the level moves faster, increasing the difficulty. GitHub Repo...
